Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has suffered a knee injury and left the Etihad Stadium with a knee brace on his left knee. The Argentinian defender was substituted at half-time of City’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal, and it looks like another lengthy spell on the sidelines for another City player.
Zabaleta was sensational for the Blues in recent weeks, and the news comes just days after German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was ruled out of action for City for the remainder of the season.
More significantly, Zabaleta’s contract with City is set to expire at the end of the season and now may have played his last game for the club if the diagnosis is similar to his team-mates.
Zabaleta was the right-back who started the game for City on Sunday as the Blues overtook the Gunners following their 2-1 victory at the Etihad.
Many were questioning why Guardiola replaced Sagna, but now it’s obvious for all to see.
