Turkish club Beşiktaş has announced Manchester City are one of the club’s monitoring the progression of star forward Cenk Tosun.
The 26-year-old striker has attracted interest from some of European football’s elite due to his deadliness in front of goal, not only in the Turkish Super Liga but also the Champions League.
Ahmet Ürkmezgil, the club’s General Secretary, has told Turkish media City were one of the club’s that watched the forward recently.
“Manchester City came to watch Cenk Tosun. I think there were a few more teams. My head is so messy; I can not remember clearly,”
Tosun almost joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, but speculation surrounding his future hasn’t fazed the Turkish international who has struck nine goals in sixteen outings this season.
City’s interest in the player is still unknown as Turkish clubs have previously spoken publically about transfers in the past, only for them not to materialise. Whatever the outcome, there is little denying the forward could be a valuable asset for the Blues.
