Manchester City officials discussing brand extension in Cape Town

Manchester City’s owners have begun discussions with a South-African based club to potentially expand the ever-growing City Football Academy. South African club Black Aces have been earmarked by Manchester City’s chief’s as the latest club to be added into the CFA.

The Abu Dhabi-owned club also controlling stakes with Melbourne City in Australia’s A-League and New York City in America’s Major Soccer League. A 20% stake in Yokohama Marinos, the J-League outfit, is another investment the City Football Academy has made in recent years.

Sometime in the near future, the South African club will looking at furthering the interest from the City group, with a view to adding Cape Town City to that list. The news comes just days after it was announced City are looking to expand their empire into China with Beijing and Shanghai suited as potential landmark cities.
