Manchester City have identified both AS Monaco’s Fabinho,23, and Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich,21, as summer targets as Pep Guardiola prepares for a mass summer overhaul of his squad. Should that occur, it could see up to eighteen players depart the club.
The £40million rated Germany international Kimmich, who can play full-back, centre-half and in midfield, tops the list of players Guardiola wants to bring in. A move would see the duo reunite at City after Guardiola managed the player during his tenure at Bayern Munich.
Kimmich has recently spoken out of his disapproval over his lack of game-time at the Bavarian giants, and The Sun now believe he could be pushed out of the club should Guardiola’s side meet their valuation. Alongside Kimmich, City
Alongside Kimmich, City have already held negotiations with Monaco’s Fabinho, who like Kimmich, can play at either full-back, centre-half or in a midfield role where he dominated City at the Stade Louis II.
Fabinho’s father confirmed his admiration for Guardiola and mentioned his love of the Spaniard’s style of play. A £30million valuation is on Fabinho’s head, and City would face competition from Manchester United to sign the Brazilian this summer.
