Manchester City and Manchester United to battle for Porto striker – report

Manchester City and Manchester United are among a host of European clubs ‘closely following’ FC Porto forward Rui Pedro along with German giants Borussia Dortmund. The young forward continues to make enormous strides for the Portuguese outfit, and a move away from the club is being discussed.

According to A Bola, Rui Pedro has a €30 million (£25.5 million) release clause, and both teams are considering a move for the 18-year-old forward.

Rui Pedro has previous with English clubs having made his Champions League debut against Premier League champions Leicester City. The Portugal under 19 forward has already scored in the league this season having netted on just his second appearance for the club.

Portugal is renowned for establishing a young starlet now and then and many believe Rui Pedro could become an icon of the Portuguese game. Whether or not City take a gamble on the young forward, it remains to be seen.
