France international Eliaquim Mangala has been spotted at Lyon’s training ground ahead of a proposed move to the Ligue 1 outfit. Manchester City ready to finally dump him off to the six-time French champions in a deal worth £18million.
The Manchester Evening News report a deal expected to be concluded within’ 24 hours after Mangala was pictured with a supporter outside the club’s facilities in Southern France.

City are keen to offload Mangala who spent the entirety of last season on loan at La Liga side, Valencia. The Spanish team were keen to secure a permanent deal for the 26-year-old, but couldn’t negotiate a fee below City’s £18million asking price.
Mangala was signed by City in 2014 following the club’s title victory just months previously. A £42million move from FC Porto can only be described as a failure – hence why City are so keen to recoup the majority of the fee paid.
A loan move has been discussed regarding Mangala’s future; however, the idea was swiftly quashed as City have reverted to a policy of selling players instantly rather than loaning players. Any sales would enable their expenditure to increase on potential incomings.
Despite the £24million lose, City will deem £18million a successful deal.
