Manchester City and Kosovo international Sinan Bytyqi has been forced to return to Manchester after medics have discovered a suspected heart condition that could force the 21-year-old into retirement.
Dutch publication Voetbal International are reporting the news regarding the City youngster.
The young winger was ruled out of action with Dutch side, Go Ahead Eagles, with an ankle injury, but tests have indicated a diagnosis far worse than previously expected.
Bytyqi spent last season on-loan at SC Cambuur before suffering a long-term knee injury. His performances in the Eredivisie captured the imagination of the Go Ahead Eagles and opted to bring the youngster back to Holland for the entire season.
At the moment, neither Manchester City or Go Ahead Eagles have responded to claims made by the Dutch newspaper while the player, nor his family, have spoken publically about the apparent diagnosis.
Bytyqi has yet to feature for Manchester City’s first-team.
