Manchester City loanee Wilfried Bony rejected the chance to join the mega-riches of the Chinese Super League by rejecting a £210,000 after tax proposal by an unnamed side. According to The Sun, Bony’s intentions are to remain in England and fight for his first-team place at Stoke – rather than accept a major money deal to join the far eastern revolution.
In recent week, players such as Oscar, Axel Witsel, and Manchester City legend, Carlos Tevez have all jumped ship to China with the financial rewards far and beyond anything possible in Europe.
The Ivorian is currently in Africa representing the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations but refuses to rule out a rediscovering the form once witnessed during his time at Swansea City.
Unfortunately for Bony, the striker has struggled to recapture any form during his time in the Midlands. However, he can only be admired if he refused the approaches from the Chinese.
City may be disappointed with the rejection from Bony, but one thing is for certain, his career in Manchester is over.
