Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made significant steps to persuade Alexis Sanchez to swap Arsenal for City this summer. According to Chilian publication, El Mercurio, Guardiola personally phoned Sanchez to discuss a potential move.
Sanchez has been in sensational form for Arsenal this season having scored 13 goals already this season having been played through the middle of an attacking trio.
The news comes just days after City lost star forward Sergio Aguero for another four games following his red card against Chelsea. The Argentine is regarded, along with Sanchez, as the best forward in the league and a move could secure City enormous domestic success.
Sanchez’ contract expires in 2018 and Guardiola is hoping to prize him away before a new deal can be agreed. The duo worked together at Barcelona when Guardiola signed the Chile international from Udinese, ahead of City, in 2011.
Could a front four of De Bruyne, Aguero, Sterling and Sanchez guide City to domestic and European honours?
