Manchester City are on the verge of losing highly prosperous young defender Tosin Adarabioyo as the defender looks set to depart the Etihad Stadium on a free transfer.
According to Goal, Adarabioyo will run down the final few months of his contract as both he, and the club, were unable to agree on new terms on a contract extension.
The 19-year-old’s representatives have been attempting to negotiate with City for a number of months, but an agreement was unable to be met with all parties struggling to find an agreeable term to extend the England youth international’s deal.
Adarabioyo has been at City since 2003, and a new contract “seems unlikely” with Everton being his biggest admirers in recent months. Nonetheless, despite the fear of losing Adarabioyo on a Bosman transfer, City would be entitled to compensation for the defender because of him being under the age of 24.
Adarabioyo has featured four times for City’s first-team, and despite the huge expectations placed on his shoulders, he remains unlikely ever to represent the Blues again.
