Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho will be offered a new three-year contract at the club in the hope of fending off interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Both clubs were prepared to offer Sancho the promise of first-team football to switch alliances, but City are confident the winger will extend his stay in Manchester.
Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail reports the news and it doesn’t come as a surprise to those who follow the player carefully. Sancho joined City from Watford in March 2015 for a fee believed to be £500,000.
The teenager’s remarkable talent hasn’t gone unnoticed as London-based teams have wanted to offer Sancho the opportunity to return to his home city.
Pep Guardiola has held Sancho in high regard since he moved to City this summer and is of the belief that he could become a hugely influential player for the first-team shortly. Sancho currently plays in the impressive u18 team side that also features the talent of Brahim Diaz, Phil Foden and Sancho himself.
The trio are widely tipped to become first-team stars with City in the coming years under Guardiola.
