Mundo Deportivo are reporting that both City and Barcelona are in for Sevilla winger, Vitolo. The 27-year-old is said to be happy at Sevilla. However, he hasn’t ruled out a move away from the club.
Vitolo joined Sevilla in 2013 from Las Palmas as 23-year-old and was predominantly used as a winger. However, Vitolo has the ability and has played a multitude of positions for Sevilla across the face of the front line.
It’s said that Sevilla would demand €40 million for the player, but it’s likely that they would accept a lower offer.
Mundo Deportivo believes Vitolo would prefer a transfer to Barcelona over any club. Vitolo would certainly be an exciting signing for City if it were to happen, and City fans would certainly hope it’d be more successful than the signing of Nolito last summer.
So far this season Vitolo has just four goals as well as four assists. The 27-year-old is seen as a consistent performer for Jorge Sampaoli’s side and is rarely seen on the bench. If City do sign Vitolo, then it’s obvious he would have to agree to play second fiddle to the likes of Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.
The winger’s arrival could also signal the end of Nolito’s brief City career, in which started off well yet some red cards seen his play time severely limited.
