In the light of an FA Youth Cup Semi Final on Friday night (the third chance in a row for City’s youngsters to reach the final) the youth talents deserve some recognition for the unbelievable profile of performances they have provided.

With lots of money being invested into the academy, the talent recruited is performing and achieving fantastic feats across all age groups.

The U23s are second in the PL2 after convincingly beating table toppers Everton on last Friday; they are still in contention for the title which would be a remarkable achievement.

Lee Carsley’s U18s are the generation that epitomises success, the boys have cruised to the North League title with an unbeaten streak only to be ended by Liverpool over the weekend. However, this shouldn’t dampen the astounding achievements of the youngsters.

As Sheik Mansour said in 2008, “We are building a structure for the future not just a team of all-stars”. Therefore it is no surprise that these youngsters will have a chance in the coming years. Due to the mass amount of talent in the youth system, let’s see which academy players could make it to City’s first team.
