Manchester City have named Ajax’ teenage sensation Justin Kluivert to their summer transfer target shortlist.
Arab News reporter Duncan Castles believes City are plotting a summer move for the 19-year-old after adding his name to the club’s summer wishlist as they aim to recapture their Premier League title.
The report suggests Kluivert has rejected previous contract extension offers from Ajax and despite playing regularly for the Dutch giants, an offer from European football’s elite could see the Amsterdam club forced to sell one of their prized assets.
Kluivert has only one-year remaining on his contract with Ajax and unless the player signs a new deal in the coming weeks, then last season’s Europa League finalist could offer Kluivert for a cut-price sale.
Kluivert has become one of the key players in the Eredivisie after his sensational breakthrough season. The 19-year-old, son of former Barcelona forward Patrick, has scored ten goals and provided five assists for team-mates as Ajax struggled to challenge for the Dutch title.
