Premier Leauge champions Manchester City are hopeful of re-enforcing their squad next season with the acquisition of a forward, and Federico Chiesa is one of the names being monitored, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
City are considering a move for the highly-rated Fiorentina forward Chiesa who enjoyed an impressive season in Serie A after scoring six goals and contributing with eight assists,.
City boss Pep Guardiola has had a number of scouts watching the 20-year-old all season and has been impressed with his performances as he goes in search of a wide forward capable of playing through the middle, reports Di Marzio.
The same report states that City face competition from Napoli for the player and the Neopolitan’s already had a €40million bid rejected by Fiorentina last year. Chiesa is not for sale unless an offer is so enormous the Viola cannot refuse the finances being proposed, according to the report.
Whether City move for the player remains unclear, but Di Marzio seems confident that City’s interest exists.
