Manchester City will have the opportunity to sign West Brom defender Jonny Evans for £3million in the summer window.
According to the Daily Mirror, Evans has a clause in his contract that enables him to depart the Hawthorns this summer should the club be relegated from the Premier League.
West Brom currently sit ten points off survival and are manager-less with a large sense of doom surrounding the ‘Black Country’ club. City boss Pep Guardiola targeted Evans in January, as well as the previous summer window, to tighten up City’s constant defensive issues.
City were just £2million off West Brom’s valuation for Evans in January but the Baggies failed to capitalise on City’s offer and could face losing Evans for almost £17million less than the original offer six months later.
Evans is willing to reject interest from Arsenal to land his move to Manchester City but it’s unsure whether City will return a third time for the player.
