Manchester City left-back Angelino believes he is ready to return to his parent club at the end of his loan spell with NAC Breda.
The 21-year-old has gathered many plaudits for his exceptional performances in the Eredivisie which has witnessed him score twice and assist four times in twenty-nine appearances.
Angelino has attracted interest from some of Dutch football’s heavyweights for his attacking flair and the defensive security he has provided to Breda this campaign.
City have struggled to fill the void left by Benjamin Mendy’s long-term knee injury suffered in September, with Pep Guardiola opting to play natural midfielders, such as Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko, in the position.
With Mendy expected to play in the World Cup for France this summer, Angelino believes he’s ready to impress Guardiola on the club’s pre-season tour of America in July.
Speaking to Fox Sports, Angelino had this to say on his City career.
“I’ve already been loaned out three times and the first time was difficult. I am waiting for my chance [at City] and will be ready for it.
“PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord are top teams that everyone wants to play for. But going back to Manchester City, the Premier League, is also good.
“Of course I want to play for Manchester City. That’s a big step, but we will see what happens in future. My focus is on playing for a top club. I will not name names, but I want to play at a top club. That is my goal.”
