Manchester City are hoping to sign 20-year-old Brazilian defender, Eder Militao, from Sao Paulo this summer and will wait until July 11th to sign a pre-contract agreement.
Should City wait until mid-July, they will be able to sign the versatile defender on a free transfer from January 11th where it would be expected Militao will leave the Blues on loan.
Militao would follow similar foot-steps to compatriot Gabriel Jesus who joined City six months after completing a £27.5million move from Palmeiras.
Sao Paulo intend to offer Militao an improved contract with a significantly higher salary to fend of City’s interest, but if the proposal is rejected, City will bide their time and sign the Brazilian on a pre-contract agreement, as reported by Yahoo Esportes.
City would have to attack the negotiations from another perspective if Militao extends his contract and it is believed a fee upwards of $40million would be needed to prise the defender away from Brazil.
