Manchester City are preparing a £20million move for Brazilian defender Eder Militao as Pep Guardiola wants to sign reinforcements to his already star-studded squad.
Militao has become one of Guardiola’s ‘primary targets’ ahead of the summer window due to his physicality and versatility, report the Daily Mail. The 20-year-old is uncapped by his national team, however, he can play as a centre-back and in a defensive-midfield role.
City will have to fend off interest from FC Porto should they wish to sign the player in the upcoming window. His parent-club Sao Paulo value him at £20million and City are willing to pay the money required for his signature.
The Blues are hoping to make three summer signings and Militao could be one of the new arrivals for next season.
The past two seasons have seen City sign players from Brazil including Gabriel Jesus and Douglas Luiz so Militao could make it a hat-trick in consecutive windows for City.
