Manchester City will make a €50million bid for Napoli midfielder Jorginho after holding talks with his agent.
Italian newspaper Il Messaggero report City’s bid for the player is imminent and the Blues will offer a contract worth €4.5million until 2023.
Napoli have made attempts to entice Jorginho to remain at the Stadio San Paulo by offering the 26-year-old a renewal until 2022.
The Serie A club’s effort has been rebuffed by the Italian international as City’s expected offer is almost €2million greater per annum.
The report goes further in detail stating Napoli have already started the search for replacing Jorginho as negotiations with Sampordia midfielder Lucas Torreira are at an advanced stage.
City have previously held unsuccessful talks with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis in 2012 regarding Edinson Cavani, but his unwillingness to allow star players leave for less than their worth could make discussions for Jorginho difficult.
Napoli could ask for as much €60million for Jorginho in the hope an auction between City, Manchester United and Liverpool takes place.
