Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is hoping to add another Brazilian to his squad with the acquisition of Lucas Halter.
The 18-year-old has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and AS Roma in recent months, but the Daily Mirror is reporting City hope to conclude a deal for the Atletico Paranaense defender.
Halter, who was called up to the Brazil under-20 squad last month, is wanted by Pep Guardiola due to his reputation of being one of the most exceptional young prospects in Brazilian football.
Guardiola has previously raided Brazilian football to sign Gabriel Jesus and Douglas Luiz during his tenure at City, and the 6ft 2″ Halter could become his latest Brazilian signing.
His composure in possession along with his aerial presence has seen many regard him as the next top-class defender to come from Brazil.
Halter has captained his side’s youth team and has featured in first-team squads despite his young age.
