After failing to secure a deadline move in January, Manchester City are prepared to return for Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez this summer.
The 27-year-old forward remains on Pep Guardiola’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window despite the Blues failing to secure a move for him in January with a proposed £65million fee.
ESPN FC are reporting City’s interest in Mahrez still exists and the player remains interested in moving to the Etihad Stadium after five seasons at Leicester.
Mahrez has struggled to recapture his early season form following interest from City in the winter, but that hasn’t deterred Guardiola from strengthening his squad with the acquisition of Mahrez in the coming months.
The Algerian international is under contract at the King Power until 2020 and has pushed for a move away from Leicester for three consecutive summer windows.
Guardiola is keen to add strength to his squad and improve on this season’s double-winning success. Leicester value Mahrez at £90million.
