When everyone anticipated the long-awaited disco would finally happen, it turns out Manchester City have no intention of pursuing a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco this summer.
Last week, it was reported Pep Guardiola had made personal promises to Isco about a summer move to Manchester City. Nonetheless, the Manchester Evening News have denied City are interested in signing the player anytime soon.
The club are actively seeking a versatile and attack-minded player to recruit but Isco’s name is believed to not be on the list of possible transfer targets this summer; ultimately quashing any chance of the five-year transfer saga finally ending.
The rumours first occurred when Isco scored a hat-trick against Argentina for Spain during the international break. The 26-year-old spoke to the media about his troublesome relationship with Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.
“I have the confidence of the coach and maybe in Madrid, I have not won that yet,” he told reporters after the match.
Isco may not be one of transfer target’s City will move for, however, it seems Riyad Mahrez is on the list after City’s failed January pursuit for the player.
