Manchester City right-back Pablo Maffeo has joined Bundesliga giants VFB Stuttgart on a permanent contract.
The news has broken via City’s official website and the Spaniard will join Stuttgart after spending eighteen months on loan at City Football Group club FC Girona.
Maffeo made three appearances for City after coming through their ranks before establishing himself as one of the finest young full-backs in world football during his time at Girona. The 20-year-old will now experience a new league with Europa League competitors Stuttgart.
The 20-year-old was a pivotal part of Girona’s promotion to La Liga in 2017 and returned on loan to the Spanish outfit for a campaign that saw them finish in the top half of the table this season.
Maffeo has signed a five-year contract at his new club and has the potential to force himself into the Spanish national team in the near future should he continue to develop at the rate he has done over the past two years.
Everyone at Inside Manchester City wishes Pablo the best of luck on his new venture.
