Pep Guardiola is increasingly likely to remain at Manchester City longer than 2019. The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of next season, but Guardiola remains keen on extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The Daily Mail reports the former Barcelona boss will enter into talks with City at the end of the season, with all parties keen on extending his current contract.
Despite the club’s excellent form on the pitch, neither party are willing to openly discuss the matter until the end of the campaign as Guardiola goes in search of a first trophy since moving to England in 2016.
Negotiations between City’s hierarchy and Guardiola are expected to run smoothly due to their excellent relations. Should the 46-year-old renew his deal, he would have been at City longer than his previous two jobs at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Guardiola is currently earning £15million a year, but his family seem to be enjoying the hassle-free lifestyle Manchester has to offer as he resides in the city centre.
