Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been approached by Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain about becoming their head coach.
French publication Le10Sport report Guardiola was the club’s number one managerial target to replace Unai Emery before he swiftly rejected the approach from the Parisiens.
PSG’s owners are believed to be long-term admirers of Guardiola and hoped to entice the 47-year-old Catalonian to the Parc De Princes to take control of their ambitious project.
Despite a firm inquiry, Guardiola rejected the club’s offer and insisted he has no intentions to depart Manchester City in the near future. In fact, widespread reports believe Guardiola will renew his current contract which expires in 2019.
Guardiola is expected to extend his contract until the end of the 2020/2021 season which could take his total years at the Etihad Stadium to five.
PSG are seemingly close to agreeing on a deal with Thomas Tuchel to become their first-team coach next season following Guardiola’s rejection.
