Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart could be set to finally end his English football nightmare by joining Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, according to Record.
Sporting are prepared to rescue Hart from his troublesome career in English football and want to sign the 31-year-old to replace the departing Rui Patricio.
Hart has endured two difficult loan spells at Serie A giants Torino and Premier League strugglers West Ham over the past two seasons. The former England number one has struggled to recapture his form since Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City in 2016 and pushed Hart out the Etihad door.
Despite the interest from the Primera Liga giants, Hart’s enormous salary could see any possible deal collapse with the two-time Premier League winner unwilling to lower his salary demands, according to the report.
Hart has one year remaining on his current Manchester City deal and doesn’t appear to be returning to his parent-club anytime soon.
