Manchester City’s first-team squad, staff, and coaches returned to training for the first-time on Wednesday following their third Premier League title victory in six years.
City’s 1-3 win against Tottenham on Saturday ensured second-placed Manchester United had no room for any error or else the title would be City’s at their expense.
United lost 0-1 at home to bottom place West Brom gifting City a record-breaking title. Players and coaches celebrated by spending time with each other, some were in continental Europe while other members of staff shared the experience with supporters in the local pub.
Guardiola and his staff were given until Wednesday off duty following City’s emotional victory on Sunday, and when everyone resumed working assignments on Wednesday, Guardiola delivered a passionate and thankful speech to everyone who contributed to the club’s success.
The 47-year-old City boss thanked everyone from the laundry staff to the players who made the dream a reality.
“What has happened, personally and hopefully for you as well, will always be in my heart until the last day of my life, I’m pretty sure of that.”
