Slaven Bilic is confident of bringing departing City legend Pablo Zabaleta to West Ham. ESPN FC believes the 32-year-old, who played his final match at the Etihad on Tuesday, has confirmed that he has had offers “from teams in the Premier League.”
West Ham has spoken to Zabaleta’s representatives in an attempt to bring the Argentine to the London Stadium, and are willing to offer him a two-year contract, with the option for another twelve months in addition.
With Pablo confirming he’ll be leaving City in the summer, West Ham are thought to be leading the race to sign the player. Slaven Bilic has also confirmed that the signing of a right-back is a priority.
Both Michail Antonio and Harvard Nordtveit have been deployed in that position this season, while 23-year-old Sam Byram and Spanish veteran Alvaro Arbeloa have played minuscule roles for the Hammers.
As well as confirming interest from English clubs, Zabaleta has also confirmed he has received some foreign interest.
“I have a few offers from teams in the Premier League, some from abroad,” Pablo said. “I’m just thinking what’s the best for my family and I is.”
Wherever the Argentine warrior ends up, it will surely be a great coup for any team lucky enough to have his services at the ready.
